The live Internet broadcast of WHWL is presented in streaming MP3 format.
This is compatible with the current versions of iTunes (Windows & Mac,) Winamp, Real Audio, and
Windows Media Player. When you click on the Live
Brodcast Link, your player should be automatically launched and begin
playing in a few seconds.
If you do not have an audio player installed, we recommend Windows users download iTunes (XP or 2000 only) or Winamp Lite, and install as directed. In our experience with winamp, the best sound can be achieved by using a preset on the built-in graphic equalizer. Open the graphic equalizer, and load the preset "Full Bass and Treble." iTunes users may want to adjust the graphic equalizer settings as well. The "Latin" preset boosts both bass & treble, and may provide you with a better sound. We recommend iTunes for Mac OS X users. iTunes should be already installed on your machine, and should open our stream automatically. Recent OS 9 installs may have versions if iTunes that will work as well. To make sure you have the most current version, run Software Update, or you can download the most current version from Apple.
If you have Real Audio installed and the broadcast fails to play, start RealOne Player manually and go to: Tools - Preferences - Media Types. Click the box to "Always play" Extensions: m3u ![]()
If you have Windows Media Player installed and the broadcast fails to play, start Media Player manually and go to: Tools - Options - File Types. Click the box for "MP3 audio file". The encoding requires Windows Media Player version 7 or above. ![]()
If you have iTunes on your computer but it does not open the stream automatically when you click on the link, you can easily open the stream manually. Under the "Advanced" menu, choose "Open Stream." Type in the address of our audio stream, and iTunes will open it and put a listing in your library for WHWL. In the future, simply double click the library listing to listen online. If you would like to make iTunes your default audio player, choose "Preferences" from the Edit menu, and select that option. iTunes 4.2 or above is required for Windows users. ![]()
